Teatime #1 : A Toast from France

It's Tuesday!
It's 4pm! It's hot! It's... Teatime!
Teatime #1 : French Toast We have to thank the French for inventing this. :P
Ingredients: 1. One egg 2. 2 pieces of bread 3. Frying pan 4. A teaspoon of oil 5. Patience and sweats Serving size: 4 Frankly, I don't cook most of the time. So, today I decided to make something to eat, because I had nothing else to do. Introduction: A few weeks ago, or maybe last month, mom took out the good ol' Frying Pan that had been hiding in some corner of the house for years I think. Using the pan, you can whip up lots of tasty food: omelletes, fried chickens, sausages, or even fried rice! So, today, I'm going to try to whip up the French Toast! Method: Basically, the French Toast is nothing but breads with eggs. So, it's very easy to make. Beat the egg until fluffy, then dip the bread in it, and fry it. For some reasons, French Toast comes in triangular shape rather than square, so remember to cut the bread into half. The end result: Not bad for a first-timer, I mean, myself, albeit a little too oily. (Mental note: Use less oil, try add a little salt for taste.)
Don't mind the shape and colour.

~~~~~
人, 是不是到了一个年龄,烦恼会加倍? 看到奕彬他在将近3个月里写的第一篇部落格 结果不是往常嘻嘻哈哈的那种。 看了,还真的很惊讶。 外表看起来开开心心的他,如今却会为感情而那么烦恼 记得3月14日那天,我们打完羽球后在车上聊天,聊到快要凌晨 他说了很多关于他的心事 说真的,那时好像是我们认识7年里第一次谈心事吧! 如果你有在看这个部落格的话,我想说声对不起,因为那时我没给到你什么意见…… 无论如何,我会是你永远的听众。 有烦恼时也能向我发泄…… 或许心里会觉得舒服点。 过后又无意中看到佐潘部落格 他说不久后可能会搬回居銮 看到了也同样很惊讶。 虽然知道朋友到一个时候都会分散,但还是会觉得有点不舍…… (注:我可不是同性恋者。) 想想,自己在几个月的时间里也会搬家 不知道那时还会不会有机会见到大家 可能会很少了吧…… 希望你不会忘了我们哦! 也希望你们不会忘了我哦! 佩珊部落格还比较好一点 只是在抱怨工作的事 不知你是否会来看这篇部落格,不过我还是要说 呵呵,其实你已经很坚强咯! 能撑到那么久。 工作就是这样的吧,难免会很压力 坚持的做,不要想到太多不好的东西,开开心心享受这份工作, 那么你就会开心啦! 以后回想起来也不会有什么遗憾。 好好珍惜吧!
~~~~~

Why is soft drink cans tall and slim rather than short and wide?

Once again folks, I stumbled upon the book last week when I went to Jusco and buy some mineral water (Limited Edition!).
It's Spitzer Love Mineral Water! Limited Edition!
From the previous post, I've mentioned that making the cans short and wide would save up to 30% of aluminium than making them the conventional way: tall and slim. So, why do soft drinks companies still manufacture them in the shape of tall cylindrical cans? The answer is pretty straightforward. First, there's this marvelous thingy called optical illusion. People are easily fooled by optical illusion. People think that they saw a curvy line in what appear to be a perfectly straight line. People think that tall slim cans contain more liquid than the short wide counterpart. People think that the yellow rectangle is longer than the green rectangle. People think that they are smart. But in reality, people are fooled by their own mind. Oh joy! The other reason is that people prefer tall slim cans rather than short wide cans. I don't exactly know why, maybe it's psychological factor, like people prefer to have a circular clock rather than a square, even though they both serve the same function equally well. This is a rather short question. Next up: Why are some cars have their petrol tank at the left side, while some others are at the right side?

Walk with them

This is a forwarded email I received a few days ago.
When you were very young...
They spent a lot of time teaching you how to use spoon and chopsticks to eat...
Teaching you how to wear clothes, fasten shoelace, button up...
Teaching you how to wash face, Teaching you how to comb your hair... Teaching you the way of life. So... So, when they were old... "Mom, I go out for a while!" When they could not think of any way to talk to you... Please do not blame them... When they were starting to forgot how to button up or fasten shoelace... When they were starting to stain their clothes while eating... When their hands were starting to tremble while they comb their hair... Please do not urge them... Because as you are slowly growing up they are slowly growing old... When you showed up in front of them... They would feel very happy and blissful. If one day, when they could not even stand up, could not even walk anymore... Please hold their hands firmly, and walk slowly with them... Just like... Just like how they held your hands back then...
